Parents in Bow, New Hampshire, are speaking out after school officials banned them from attending school events for wearing pink wristbands with “XX” written on them in support of their daughters’ soccer team. The parents were protesting the inclusion of a biological male on the girls’ team, only to have their concerns met with harsh action from school authorities.

The controversy erupted during a soccer game between Bow High School and Plymouth Regional High School. Some parents, frustrated by the inclusion of a biological male on the opposing team, wore the wristbands to signify their support for female athletes. School officials responded by stopping the game, ordering the parents to remove the wristbands, and issuing “no trespass” orders banning them from future events.

Anthony Foote, one of the parents who received a ban, expressed his frustration. “My daughter’s playing in the homecoming game this weekend, and I’m banned until the 23rd,” Foote said, adding that he couldn’t understand why such a peaceful gesture was met with such harsh punishment.

School officials claimed that the wristbands violated school policy and caused a disruption, though parents dispute this, providing video evidence that the game was not interrupted by chanting or shouting. Instead, they feel their concerns about fairness and safety for their daughters were ignored and their voices silenced.

Foote and other parents have emphasized that their primary concern is the safety of their daughters, citing past incidents where female athletes were injured while competing against biological males. They believe that they should have the right to express their concerns without being censored by school authorities.
