Supreme Court Allows Biden Administration To Cut Texas’ Razor Wire Barrier

In a shocking decision on Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Biden administration, allowing U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents to continue facilitating illegal immigration by cutting razor wire installed by Texas on the southern border.

The temporary ruling will allow CBP agents to cut razor wire to allow illegal aliens to cross into the U.S. while the lawsuit over the issue continues.

The decision was 5-4, with supposedly conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John Roberts joining with Democrat Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor to grant the emergency appeal from the Biden administration.

The ruling overturns a previous decision in favor of Texas from a federal appeals court, which ordered agents to stop cutting the concertina wire.

This decision comes amid escalating conflict between Texas and the Biden administration over President Joe Biden’s open-border policies, as the Republican-controlled state has repeatedly attempted to secure the border through various means in an effort to stem the massive influx of illegal aliens into Texas and the U.S. as a whole. The razor wire that the Supreme Court has allowed CBP agents to resume dismantling was placed along roughly 30 miles of the Rio Grande near the border city of Eagle Pass, which has become a major border crossing area for illegal aliens.

The Biden administration has challenged nearly every pro-border security policy enacted by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and the state’s Republican-controlled legislature, including the installation of floating buoy barriers in the Rio Grande and the recent decision to allow state troopers to arrest and jail illegal aliens on trespassing charges.

The Biden administration claimed in court documents that the razor wire impedes CBP agents from reaching illegal aliens as they cross the Rio Grande. They also argued that federal immigration law supersedes Texas’ right to address illegal immigration on its own — despite the fact that the administration has thus far refused to enforce many immigration laws or protect Texas from what Abbott calls an “invasion.”

Conservatives have condemned the Supreme Court’s decision to permit the Biden administration’s continued facilitation of illegal immigration — with Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) declaring in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that “the feds are staging a civil war, and Texas should stand their ground.”

Meanwhile, commentator Jack Posobiec has offered conservatives a glimmer of hope in his response to the ruling.

“To be clear, the Supreme Court ruling today was specifically about the court order on cutting razor wire. The 5th Circuit still needs to hear the actual case on its merits. There is still a chance Texas wins,” Posobiec, a Navy veteran and senior editor of Human Events, wrote in a post on X.
