Disgraced Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who recently got kicked off of the House Intelligence Committee for lying to the American people and sleeping with a Chinese spy, has been caught in yet another scandal — this time for spending over half a million dollars in campaign funds on luxuries.

According to a shocking report from Fox News, the California Democrat spent nearly $583,000 on travel expenses during the 2022 election cycle — using the money to pay for limousines, flights, yachts and fancy hotels.

As lawyer Harmeet Dhillon pointed out in a tweet, these numbers mean that Swalwell outspent Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who has been repeatedly criticized for her spending habits.

“He spent about 3x his congressional salary on lavish travel expenses … Eric Swalwell spent more campaign cash on travel and luxury accommodations than Nancy Pelosi,” Dhillon wrote.

While most Americans have been struggling due to skyrocketing inflation, with many living paycheck to paycheck, Swalwell has been blowing his money on luxuries.

The expenditures include $20,240 to the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, where his wife worked as sales director until 2019; $1,800 at the Paris five-star Hotel La Maison Champs-Elysées; $3,538.94 at the Ritz Hotel Paris; $4,708 at Loews Miami Beach; and $28,646 at Just Dreaming Yacht Charters, whose website states that they offer “a relaxing and luxurious setting for up to 40 passengers.”

Swalwell also spent a shocking $131,000 in campaign funds on childcare expenses, which works out to roughly $44,000 for each of his three kids. The childcare expenses included $2,142 at a Maryland location of Let Mommy Sleep, which offers overnight postpartum care for newborn babies.

One of the hotels that the Democrat congressman stayed at in France was especially luxurious, stating on its website: “The Maison Champs-Elysées in the heart of Paris’ ‘Golden Triangle’ is an elegant marriage of contemporary lines and unobtrusive luxury, this very special non-conformist hotel teases our expectations, with theatrical elements, a subtle, relaxed atmosphere, and attentive staff.”

This shocking use of campaign funds is only Swalwell’s latest controversial act, as the California Democrat has been a constant target of criticism from conservatives due to his holier-than-thou rants that come despite his past actions of lying to the American people and sleeping with a Chinese spy before being elected to Congress.
