NY Judge Extends Trump Gag Order To Protect His Democrat Activist Daughter

New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, the Democrat judge presiding over the provably false so-called “hush money” trial against former President Donald Trump, has expanded his outrageous gag order after Trump and his attorneys pointed to a clear conflict of interest in the case — the judge’s daughter’s significant connections to prominent Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris.

Apparently, the leftist judge’s conflicts of interest and clear bias against Trump aren’t a problem in this case — the problem is Trump’s decision to point them out.

Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, runs a Democrat Party-aligned campaign firm called Authentic Campaigns — which has received millions of dollars from high-profile Democrats. Journalist and major Trump supporter Laura Loomer initially broke the story in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she revealed that Loren Merchan’s clients included the vice president and disgraced Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). She also pointed to Loren Merchan’s X account, where the Democrat activist’s profile picture is an image of Trump “behind bars in a jail cell,” arguing that this is another example of the judge’s bias against Trump.

“FEC reports also reveal that Loren Merchan is a frequent @actblue donor to Democrat candidates. This is absolutely a conflict of interest for Judge Merchan who is engaging in Election Interference. He should RECUSE HIMSELF from President Trump’s case immediately,” Loomer added.

On Monday, Trump’s attorneys argued in court that these facts raise “legitimate concerns” about Merchan’s “impartiality.”

“Your Honor’s daughter’s close connection to President Trump’s political adversaries and her work at, and financial interest in, a firm deeply engrained with Democratic politics raises real and legitimate concerns about this Court’s impartiality,” the attorneys argued.

“The financial well-being of Your Honor’s daughter depends at least in part on the success of Authentic. And Authentic’s business model is one that requires it to attack President Trump and support individuals and causes in direct competition with President Trump,” they added, referring to Loren Merchan’s campaign firm.

Merchan refused to even acknowledge these facts as potential conflicts of interest, instead choosing to expand his gag order on Trump to include his daughter. In his ruling, he decreed that Trump is barred from “attacking” his family members and leftist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s family members. He was also previously barred from “attacking” witnesses, prosecutors, court staff members and their relatives. Trump isn’t even allowed to talk about any of these individuals — which is a blatant violation of his First Amendment rights.

The Democrat judge declared that Trump’s so-called “pattern of attacking family members of presiding jurists and attorneys assigned to his cases serves no legitimate purpose.” This is blatantly false considering the supposed “attacks” were simply arguments about bias and conflict of interest, which actually do serve a “legitimate purpose.”

“It merely injects fear in those assigned or called to participate in the proceedings, that not only they, but their family members as well, are ‘fair game’ for Defendant’s vitriol,” Merchan added. “It is no longer just a mere possibility or a reasonable likelihood that there exists a threat to the integrity of the judicial proceedings. The threat is very real.”

Merchan, a Biden donor, has refused to recuse himself on numerous occasions after being called out for his anti-Trump bias — so it is no surprise that the latest news of his conflicts of interest prompted him to violate the Constitution rather than do the right thing and remove himself from the case. However, this may ultimately backfire on Merchan and the radical leftists behind the so-called “hush money” trial, as it will be easy for Trump to argue bias on appeal and will clearly show the American people that this is a political persecution rather than a legitimate prosecution.
