Foreign Nationals Attempting To Infiltrate US Navy Bases ‘Two Or Three Times A Week,’ Top Admiral Warns
The U.S. Navy is grappling with an alarming surge in attempts by foreign nationals, particularly those from Russia and China, to gain unauthorized access to its bases across the country. Adm. Daryl Caudle, Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command, revealed during a Friday interview on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” that these incidents are occurring “at least” two to three times per week for the Navy alone.
“This thing of our military bases getting penetrated by foreign nationals is happening more and more,” Caudle said, noting that the intruders often present cover stories such as being students or enthusiasts wanting to see the ships. Despite possessing passports and papers, these individuals are “in no way, shape, or form authorized to be on our base,” he emphasized.
The admiral’s comments come in the wake of a recent incident in North Carolina, where foreign nationals were apprehended near an area that is home to some of America’s elite special forces operators. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, has demanded that the Biden administration provide more information on a similar occurrence at the Quantico Marine Corps Base in his state, where two Jordanian nationals attempted to gain entry while posing as deliverers for an Amazon subcontractor.
As the Navy works to bolster its security measures and involves the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) in these cases, the underlying motives behind these persistent infiltration attempts remain unclear. However, the increasing frequency of such incidents underscores the urgent need for heightened vigilance and collaboration between federal and state authorities to safeguard the nation’s critical military assets.
