During a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump made a strong pledge to crack down on child and women sex traffickers if re-elected.

Speaking to supporters, Trump announced a plan to impose the death penalty on those convicted of sex trafficking, while also calling for tougher sentences for human smugglers and traffickers.

“We will impose a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence for anyone guilty of human smuggling, a guaranteed life sentence for anyone guilty of child trafficking, and a death penalty for anyone guilty of child or woman sex trafficking,” Trump stated.

The former president emphasized that border security would be a top priority under his administration, vowing to seal the border and launch the “largest deportation effort in American history.” Trump also highlighted the ongoing border crisis, blaming Vice President Kamala Harris for failing to control illegal immigration, which he claims has led to tragic consequences for American families.

During the event, Trump invited families who have lost loved ones due to crimes committed by illegal immigrants to speak. The mother of Rachel Morin, a Maryland woman allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant, tearfully recounted her loss, expressing hope that Trump’s return to office could prevent similar tragedies. Other families shared equally heartbreaking stories, underscoring the human toll of unchecked illegal immigration.

Trump also promised harsher penalties for major drug traffickers, including measures to mark immigration documents with bold warnings of “death for drug traffickers.”
