Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, former Vatican ambassador to the United States, is urging Catholics to vote for President Donald Trump in the upcoming election, framing the choice as a moral imperative. In a letter addressed to the faithful, Vigano declared that Trump is the only candidate who stands against the forces of the “deep state,” while describing Kamala Harris as “an infernal monster who obeys Satan.”

Vigano, known for his criticism of the Vatican’s response to abuse and financial scandals, emphasized that the election is not a standard political contest but a choice between two radically different futures for America. He insisted that voting for Harris would be a “very grave sin” and that Catholics must vote for Trump to preserve their faith and the nation’s values.

In his letter, Vigano argued that Harris supports policies that are “anti-Christian” and that her agenda would lead to America’s downfall. He characterized her as a figure controlled by global elites and said a Harris administration would bring “moral, social, and economic destruction.”

Recent polling from Pew Research shows that the Catholic vote is almost evenly split, with Trump leading slightly at 52%. Vigano stressed that Catholics must act decisively to prevent a catastrophe, saying that their vote could determine the nation’s future. He emphasized that abstaining from the vote would mean aligning with harmful forces.

The archbishop also referenced Trump’s ongoing battle against what he called a “globalist coup,” stating that the president’s efforts are vital to ensuring freedom and democracy for future generations. Vigano urged Catholics to see their vote as a stand against what he describes as a dark agenda aimed at eroding Christian values.

Vigano’s call is echoed by other Catholic leaders. Cardinal Raymond Burke has encouraged Catholics to engage in prayer and fasting, stressing that they should carefully evaluate each candidate’s platform to make an informed choice that aligns with Catholic principles.

Father Chad Ripperger, a respected Catholic priest and theologian, offered his own spiritual guidance by composing a prayer dedicated to the election. He called for divine intervention to guide voters and protect the integrity of the election process, emphasizing the importance of prayer during this crucial time.
