USAID Name Removed From Headquarters As Audit Uncovers Leftist Spending
The name of the United States Agency for International Development has been stripped from its headquarters in Washington, signaling the agency’s uncertain future under President Donald Trump. The move follows an audit that uncovered billions in taxpayer dollars being funneled into media influence, radical activism and ideological projects worldwide.
Among the most revealing findings was USAID’s overwhelming financial presence in Ukraine. Reports confirm that nine out of ten outlets in the country rely on foreign funding, with USAID as the primary donor. After the Trump administration froze billions in USAID spending, concerns grew about the potential for outside interests to take control of Ukraine’s press.
USAID’s financial reach extended into ideological programs overseas. Funding records revealed money allocated for LGBT lobbying in Serbia and a transgender opera in Colombia. Millions were also dedicated to social initiatives, including a Sesame Street program in Iraq and a transgender comic book in Peru. The agency also spent funds on gender-related training for journalists in Sri Lanka.
Black Lives Matter was another major beneficiary of USAID-backed grants. A $24.7 million grant to the Soros-funded Tides Center resulted in over $12.6 million being funneled to BLM-affiliated groups. This financial support came as the movement led protests that caused widespread destruction in 2020.
The European Parliament has taken notice of USAID’s operations. A German lawmaker has called for an investigation into whether the agency influenced elections across multiple EU countries. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has also promised to reveal all U.S. funding directed toward media and activist groups in his country.
USAID was also connected to President Donald Trump’s first impeachment. Reports showed that a CIA whistleblower who initiated the impeachment inquiry relied on sources funded by USAID and the State Department. With the agency’s name now stripped from its headquarters, USAID’s fate appears to be in the hands of the Trump administration.
