EPA Chief Zeldin Moves To Recover Billions From Biden-Era Climate Funding

Lee Zeldin, head of the EPA, is working to reclaim $20 billion that was allocated to left-leaning climate organizations during Biden’s administration. The funds were placed in a financial institution outside of government control, bypassing traditional oversight procedures.
According to Zeldin, Biden’s EPA intentionally [structured] the funding in a way that limited transparency. A whistleblower video from December [showed] a Biden EPA employee acknowledging that the agency was rushing to distribute the money before Trump’s team could intervene. Zeldin [called] the scheme “the first of its kind in EPA history.”
Zeldin is [pushing] for the termination of the financial agreement with the bank holding the funds. He has also [pledged] to return the money to government oversight and ensure it is properly accounted for. The matter is being [referred] to the Office of the Inspector General, Congress, and the Department of Justice.
Among the recipients of the funding was the Climate United Fund, which was awarded nearly $7 billion and [pledged] to invest in “low-income and disadvantaged communities.” InfluenceWatch has [linked] the group to left-wing causes and figures.
The Coalition for Green Capital [received] $5 billion to manage a so-called green bank, with board members from labor unions and leftist foundations. Another group, Power Forward Communities, [secured] $2 billion to promote housing decarbonization.
Zeldin has also [taken] additional steps to cut government waste, including [canceling] a $50 million environmental justice grant and [halting] nearly half a million dollars in media subscriptions. He stated that he [intends] to continue reviewing agency spending to prevent misuse of taxpayer dollars.
