Elon Musk Condemns Ukraine War Backers Who ‘Virtue Signal’ As Thousands Die

Elon Musk grew emotional during a recent interview with Fox News’ Brett Baier, criticizing (www.independent.co.uk) leaders and public figures who continue supporting the war in Ukraine while offering no plan to stop the deaths on the battlefield.
When asked why he called Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) a “traitor” for promoting more U.S. aid to Ukraine, Musk defended his words, saying, “We should care about the interests of the United States above the interests of another country. And if they don’t, they’re a traitor.”
Baier pushed back, noting that Kelly is a veteran, former astronaut and sitting U.S. senator. Musk replied, “It doesn’t mean it’s okay for him to put the interests of another country above America.”
Musk argued that the war has dragged on for years with no meaningful change. “Thousands of people have died every week for nothing,” he said. He described the front lines as stagnant and the loss of life as pointless. “We should have empathy for the thousands of people that are dying every day in trenches,” he said.
He became visibly moved while calling out people who, in his view, care more about looking morally upright than about solving the problem. “And I take great offense at those who put the appearance of goodness over the reality of it,” Musk said. He criticized those who claim that backing down would be surrendering to Russia but have no strategy to end the war. “They just want that to continue forever. I have contempt for such people.”
He went on to say, “Because they’re virtue signaling, and their lack of a solution means that kids don’t have a father. It means that parents lost a son. For what? Nothing.”
Musk said the war will eventually end in a negotiated peace and questioned why so many refuse to take that route while thousands continue to die.
