Gabbard Says Democrats Will ‘Smear And Discredit’ RFK Jr.
Former Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, who famously left the Democrat Party late last year, is condemning the party’s attempts to destroy presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to protect President Joe Biden.
Gabbard, a former Hawaii congresswoman who ran for president as a Democrat in 2020, is uniquely positioned to understand the Democrat Party’s methods of discrediting anti-establishment candidates — as she herself is anti-establishment and faced challenges within the party structure due to her views on the far-left trajectory of the party.
When announcing her decision to leave the left in October 2022, Gabbard slammed the Democrats as being “under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.”
Speaking with Fox News host Harris Faulkner on “Fox News Tonight,” Gabbard outlined the Democrat Party’s strategy in sabotaging Kennedy Jr.’s candidacy — pointing out that they will first “ignore him,” then “seek to smear and discredit him,” and finally “pull out all the stops and destroy” him.
“It’s what I experienced in 2020 when I ran for president in the Democratic primary, and they’re doing the same thing with Kennedy,” she added.
Recalling recent “baseless accusations and lies” being spread about Kennedy Jr. from the Democrats, Gabbard then suggested that the intent behind those attacks is to “plant a seed of doubt and concern in voters’ minds.”
“This is exactly what they’re doing against Kennedy,” Gabbard continued. “I didn’t have the hundreds of millions of dollars needed to combat this onslaught of a campaign that they waged. Kennedy doesn’t, either.”
“I want to say if there are any wealthy billionaires who love the country and want to see the Democratic Party liberated from these ‘woke’ warmongers,” she added. “Put your money where your values are. Bobby Kennedy could use help to go out there and share his message with voters because the DNC is not going to allow him to do that.”
According to the latest polling, Kennedy Jr. is sitting at nearly 20% in the polls — closing the gap on Biden. Many Democrat voters have expressed concerns about Biden in polls, reporting that they would rather the party choose a different candidate.
