Dhillon Urges GOP To Consider Not Talking To Fox

Powerful Republican attorney Harmeet Dhillon is also former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s lawyer, and she made a compelling argument Monday against the network.

After Axios reported that Fox News sent Carlson a cease-and-desist letter over his commentary videos on Twitter, Dhillon came to his defense. She declared her “friend and client” will not be silenced by the network or the far left.

Even more pointedly, the attorney said that Fox News is no longer “a place” for her until management stops attempting to muzzle Carlson. She then asked conservatives to think before they appear on the network.

Dhillon prefaced her statement by saying she is “passionately committed to free speech and a free flow of information necessary for a free society.”

But then she continued by urging fellow Republicans, members of Congress, and those with influence to consider their options. They need to remember that Fox News “caved into pressure to silence Tucker Carlson” before becoming part of its programming. 

Dhillon asked in a tweet if “you really want to air your views on a network that spits on its viewers, leaks oppo on its own talent, and even threatens former talent for speaking, for free, on Twitter?”

Carlson, after unceremoniously being let go by Fox News, launched a new show last week on the social media platform called “Tucker on Twitter.” For this, his former employers alleged that he violated his contract with the network.

Fox News asserted that his services are due entirely to the network through the end of next year. His free program on Twitter attracted nearly 170 million views after the first two episodes.

The end of Fox’s most popular host’s tenure came on April 21. It was just five days later when Carlson appeared on Twitter in a short video that garnered over 114.8 million views. The second episode, just released on June 8, already has almost 55 million views. 

Twitter CEO Elon Musk said the day after the second episode dropped that there is no “any deal of any kind” between the platform and Carlson.

Dhillon insisted in her thread that Republicans have “free will” to decide whether they will appear on Carlson’s former network. She further blasted the current product as “a censored version of the news.”
