Even as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. continues his Democratic presidential primary campaign with a message that resonates among many within his party, it is obvious that Democratic leaders have become increasingly motivated to discredit and silence him at any cost.

Many pundits have predicted that as Kennedy’s status among voters rises, President Joe Biden’s re-election chances could dwindle.

The leftist effort to suppress his political speech has been evident on Capitol Hill in recent days.

During a House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing last week that was intended to address government censorship, Kennedy was called as a witness and faced harsh opprobrium from members of his own party.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), for example, introduced a motion to essentially silence the presidential candidate by taking the hearing into executive session.

Although her motion was defeated by the panel’s GOP majority, Kennedy nevertheless declared: “This is an attempt to censor a censorship hearing.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) also weighed in with his unsubstantiated claim that Kennedy is a “living, breathing false flag operation” intended to benefit Republicans in next year’s election.

He criticized his GOP colleagues for daring to give Kennedy “a congressional platform to spew his hatred,” asserting that the candidate’s “whole campaign is being run by right-wing political operatives who have one objective: try to take down President Joe Biden.”

For his part, Kennedy spoke up in defense of his political alignment, declaring that his views represent a continuation of those by his father — former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy — and uncle — former President John F. Kennedy — defined the Democratic Party throughout the ‘60s and for decades after respective assassinations.

“I’m a Democrat,” he said. “And I believe in all that. If you went through a checklist of all of the things my father believed in, that he fought for, that my uncle believed and fought for, I would check every box. I feel my party has departed from some of those core values. And one of the reasons that I want to run for president is to reclaim my party.”
