Since Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives earlier this year, there has been a concerted effort to root out perceived political bias within the federal government.

Now, one prominent Democrat is adding his name to the growing number of politicians committed to combating so-called government weaponization.

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy appeared on Fox News this week for an interview with host Sean Hannity and discussed, among other things, the belief that governmental entities are increasingly being used to target political enemies.

Both Kennedy and Hannity acknowledged that such misuse of resources could be employed by leaders on either side of the aisle, but noted that the trend seems to have spread extensively since President Joe Biden was inaugurated.

Hannity brought up the example of mishandling classified documents as one example, noting that former President Donald Trump was indicted over material he reportedly took with him after leaving office while Biden has faced no such charges even though classified documents were found in his home and office.

The host went on to reference the intelligence community’s insistence that reports about Hunter Biden’s laptop were “misinformation” in the final days of the 2020 election despite having already internally verified the information.

“Now to me, that is our government — in this case through the FBI — putting cinder blocks on the scale of an election,” Hannity opined.

Kennedy replied that he would take executive action to prevent such partisanship if he is elected.

“I’m going to issue an executive order the moment I get into the White House, the first day, forbidding — ending the weaponization of our agencies for political purposes,” he vowed.

The long-shot candidate, whose campaign has attracted significant support from across the political spectrum, used his own experience as further evidence of such weaponization.

Not only did fellow Democrats attempt to silence him during a recent congressional hearing on censorship, of all topics, but he also claimed that his contrarian viewpoints on social media were targeted by federal bureaucrats in the earliest days of the Biden administration.

Internal Twitter documents revealed that government officials pressured social media platforms to remove posts on certain topics, and Kennedy declared himself to be the “first person censored by the Biden White House.”
