Washington Post Columnist Rages Over Hunter Biden Questions
Nothing upsets the liberal media more than being held to the same standards they attempt to apply to their ideological opponents.
A Washington Post writer was enraged last week when podcast host Noam Dworman questioned him over his reporting of the Hunter Biden scandals. Philip Bump has expended much ink on the Hunter Biden saga, and he is a stalwart defender of President Joe Biden’s son.
To his credit Dworman held the journalist’s feet to the fire over his pet issue. “What do you take from his text to his adult daughter — Hunter texted her, ‘I had to give 50% of my income to Pop’?”
Bump retorted, “I have no idea what that means.” The statement by the first son does a good job of speaking for itself, but the WAPO writer could not decipher it.
He added defensively, “It’s circumstantial evidence and you prefer that to direct evidence.”
This began a pattern of Bump resisting questions about issues he was more than willing to write about for the newspaper.
Bump grew frustrated enough to where he decided his best course of action was to end the interview. “Like I just said, I don’t know and I don’t know what to make of it, so I have nothing to say about it. What do you want me to say?”
Dworman did not let him off the hook, correctly noting that Hunter Biden’s statement about having to give up half of his income is indeed evidence.
Finally Bump acknowledged that the admission was evidence but immediately retreated from the questioning. “I appreciate you having me on…I feel like you want me to leave, like, just walk out in the middle of this.”
The host then raised a valid issue. Dworman asked if this was the standard employed by the Washington Post with people who disagree with their editorial position, to simply get up and walk out when confronted with contradictory evidence?
Bump responded, “Yeah, when I agree to be on for 45 minutes and then I get on for an hour and fifteen, yeah, then after a while, I go.”
Even hardcore leftists find it increasingly difficult to dismiss the mountain of evidence of wrongdoing within the Biden family. Especially when their own words clearly indict them.
