Nun Tackles Male Climate Extremist Protester
During the construction of a Catholic religious center in France, a nun was caught on video tackling a male climate extremist who attempted to protest the event.
The incident occurred at a construction site of a Catholic center in Saint-Pierre-de-Colombier in Ardèche, France.
Video of the moment shows the nun sprinting across the muddy construction site — charging at one of the protesters and grabbing him from behind. The climate extremist, who was carrying two large cylinders in each hand, tried to pull away from the nun — but he lost his balance as she grappled him to the ground. The protester was forced to let go of the cylinders, throwing them to the side while trying to get away from the nun.
The Daily Mail described the nun’s actions as “what almost looks like a professional rugby tackle.”
A clip of the incident was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by French journalist Leo Chapuis.
Translated to English by X, the post reads: “Huge! The good sister who dumps an environmentalist… a big spectacle in Ardèche where nuns defend the construction site of a future religious center against activists who are blocking it because of the impact on the environment.”
According to The Daily Mail, the nuns ended up guarding the construction site overnight with fortified entrances and barricades designed to prevent protesters from entering the area as they gathered for a demonstration.
France 3 later reported that Sylvain Hérenguel — the co-president of the climate extremist group, which was called “The Association for the Future of the Bourges Valley” — tried to smear the nuns for supposedly committing “violence” against the trespassers.
“I didn’t expect that,” Hérenguel told the outlet in a statement.
“I expected the nuns to be a little reasonable for the public order. The problem is that the religious people decided to resort to violence,” he claimed.
“I was attacked three times by five people, who snatched me, who wanted to throw me out,” Hérenguel’s statement continued, adding: “There, they decided to protect the site with their actions and their bodies.”
Meanwhile, social media users celebrated the nun’s actions.
“Doing the lord’s work. The Giants need to draft her,” wrote Chef Andrew Gruel, restaurant owner and Food Network judge, referring to the New York football team.
“Are we surprised that the type of men that attend these protests are always the type that Nuns can easily tackle?” another user asked.
“This is the energy we need from the church,” another user wrote. “Fantastic stuff!”
