Comer Uncovers $200K Check To Joe Biden Allegedly Connected To Family Business
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has uncovered evidence of a $200,000 payment directly to President Joe Biden — which was sent in 2018, prior to his election to the White House.
Despite the president’s repeated insistence that he had never been involved in his family’s overseas business dealings, the Oversight Committee chairman believes that this payment is evidence to disprove those claims.
In a video published Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter, Comer discusses the new information — revealing that Joe Biden received a $200,000 check from his brother, James Biden, and James’ wife, Sara Biden.
“A document that we’re releasing today raises new questions about how President Biden personally benefited from his family’s shady influence peddling of his name and their access to him,” Comer said in the video. “Bank records obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability have revealed a $200,000 direct payment from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden in the form of a personal check.”
The Oversight Committee chairman went on to explain the alleged financial tricks that the Biden family had used to secretly pay Joe Biden.
“In 2018, James Biden received $600,000 in loans from Americore — a financially distressed and failing rural hospital operator,” Comer said. “According to bankruptcy court documents, James Biden received these loans ‘based upon representations that his last name, Biden, could open doors and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.’”
“On March 1, 2018, Americore wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden’s personal bank account — not their business bank account,” he continued. “And then on the very same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from this same personal bank account to Joe Biden.”
“James Biden wrote this check to Joe Biden as a ‘loan repayment.’ Americore — a distressed company — loaned money to James Biden who then sent it to Joe Biden,” Comer added. “Even if this was a personal loan repayment, it’s still troubling that Joe Biden’s ability to be paid back by his brother depended on the success of his family’s shady financial dealings.”
He concluded by revealing that he plans to investigate whether Joe Biden has a loan document that proves he lent money to his brother — and whether he had similar arrangements with any other members of his family.
The Oversight Committee also shared an image of the check in a follow-up post on X, showing that the check was made out to “Joseph R. Biden Jr.” from his brother and his brother’s wife, with “loan repayment” written on the purpose line.
It is unclear at the moment how the Oversight Committee obtained this information, though it likely came from Comer’s subpoena of James Biden’s firms, Lion Hall Group and JBBSR, Inc. This subpoena was reportedly issued as part of an effort to obtain records linked to “CelticCapri Corp” — a corporation owned by Joe Biden that collected nearly $10 million in 2017 without specifying revenue line items.
