White House Panics As Muslim Leaders Threaten To Abandon Biden

Reports have begun to surface that members of the Muslim community are planning to abandon President Joe Biden over his support for Israel, including a group of Muslim leaders who sent a letter to the president demanding he tell Israel to stop fighting back against Hamas terrorists or else they will “mobilize” other Muslims to withhold their votes in the 2024 election.

In an October 30 letter to Biden and the “Democratic Party leadership,” which was titled “2023 Ceasefire Ultimatum,” Muslim leaders vowed to withhold Muslim voter support from any political candidate “who did not advocate for a ceasefire” in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war — ignoring the fact that the ceasefire would very likely only apply to Israel, as the Hamas terrorists are not known for abiding by these agreements.

“We pledge to mobilize Muslim, Arab, and allied voters to withhold endorsement, support, or votes for any candidate who did not advocate for a ceasefire and endorse the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people. We will mobilize increased voter turnout to make our voices heard. The State of Michigan, in the 2020 election, was decided by a mere 2.6 percent margin of victory and holds 16 crucial electoral votes. We emphasize the significance of Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, where many of our voters reside,” the letter stated.

Soon after this letter was sent, the Biden administration began backtracking on its strong support for Israel — reportedly telling government officials in Israel that eroding support could have an effect on U.S. aid for the Jewish state, which is currently fighting a war to eliminate members of the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza after they murdered more than 1,400 Israelis, most of whom were civilians.

“Biden, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken – who departed Thursday for Israel with a message on protecting civilian lives – have all explicitly pressed the case in recent private conversations with the Israelis, telling them that eroding support will have dire strategic consequences for Israel Defense Forces operations against Hamas,” according to a Friday report from CNN.

Further, even though antisemitism has skyrocketed across the U.S. and around the world in the aftermath of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel — Vice President Kamala Harris announced a “National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia” two days after the letter was sent.

“Taking on hate is a national priority. Today, @POTUS and I are announcing the country’s first National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia. This action is the latest step forward in our work to combat a surge of hate in America,” Harris wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Biden also reversed course after receiving the letter — calling for a “pause” in Israel’s ongoing fight against Hamas during a speech in Minnesota on November 1.

“I think we need a pause,” Biden said after a protester interrupted his speech to demand a ceasefire.

It is clear that the Biden administration is going to have a lot of difficulty appeasing the Democrat base on this issue, as the party is very divided between support for Israel and Palestine, and there is no compromising on the matter. Critics on both sides of the aisle have already begun calling out the Biden administration’s flip-flop on the issue, with Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) asking the president “what happened to your ‘rock solid and unwavering support’ for Israel?”
