Biden’s DOJ Continues Persecution Of Pro-Life Catholics
Despite loud protests to the contrary, President Joe Biden’s weaponized Department of Justice (DOJ) is very much active in prosecuting peaceful pro-life demonstrators.
Just last week, the high-profile case of five anti-abortion protesters went to trial in the nation’s capital. The defendants are accused of blocking access to a Washington D.C. abortion clinic in 2020 with ropes and chains.
They are charged with violating a federal law criminalizing restricting access to an abortionist.
In yet another case, the DOJ indicted 11 pro-life demonstrators for exercising their First Amendment rights at an abortion clinic in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. After the 2021 incident, critics charged the agency aggressively targeted the activists for arrest as though they were a terrorist cell.
According to the indictment, the defendants “engaged in a conspiracy to prevent the clinic from providing” and women from receiving abortions.
The DOJ accused the 11 pro-life supporters of violating the Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances Act (FACE). This statue had rarely been used against the pro-life movement until the Biden administration took charge in 2021.
In fact, last year alone the DOJ wielded the law to indict 22 pro-life activists.
The FBI notoriously targeted Catholics in an inflammatory 2023 memo threatening to pursue traditional and devout worshipers as domestic terrorists.
The agency has been forced to backtrack from that stand, though new evidence revealed the anti-Catholic actions were more prevalent than initially claimed.
The power of the DOJ and FBI lies not only in the ability to indict unfavored behavior. They also carry considerable ability to intimidate members of the pro-life and Catholic communities through use of force and descending onto the homes of targeted activists.
Evidence just last week was published by the Daily Signal showing FBI intimidation of a pro-life Virginia woman in April. Doorbell camera footage showed two agents approaching the door of Elise Ketch’s mother in what the daughter called a “coordinated onslaught” against pro-life activists.
Elise Ketch is a member of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising.
The agency said Ketch was “not in any trouble,” but the agents asked several questions about pregnancy centers. The activist said the FBI is attacking the frontline workers who seek to help women in crisis and are a threat to the “profit-driven” pro-abortion industry.
There is no question that the Biden administration is militantly pro-abortion and pulling out all stops to stymie the pro-life movement. Despite claims to the contrary, religious beliefs are being targeted by Washington.
