Border Agents: Illegals Do Not Fear Arrest Under Biden

The border disaster that President Joe Biden wrought upon the nation emboldened millions to illegally cross into the U.S. Now comes word from border patrol authorities that these migrants are even more encouraged by the administration’s lax security policies.

So much so that they no longer attempt to skirt arrest by border authorities. Instead, they rush to turn themselves in, safe in the knowledge that they will be released into the nation’s interior as a matter of policy. 

This revelation came from testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee earlier this year. The Daily Mail revealed the stunning truth after reviewing transcripts of the proceedings. 

San Diego sector Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke told congressional investigators in May that there was a surge in illegal immigrants passively turning themselves in. He called this pattern of submitting to agents a “more recent phenomenon.”

His description of the startling behavior was confirmed by colleagues.

Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin later told investigators that huge groups of illegal migrants now simply hand themselves over to agents. It is “not uncommon now to see a group of 200 to 300 people giving themselves up.”

These cases of voluntary capture are also happening “in some of the most remote areas.” 

Modlin said such actions are “saturating” border patrol officials and diverting resources from other areas. Just last Tuesday, illegal migrant encounters hit a record high in his southern border region.

A stunning 12,000 came across the open terrain in a single day. The Tucson Sector also reported an enormous surge in adult male illegal migrants from Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

And most no longer even attempt to avoid authorities. Unthinkable during the Trump White House years, now under Biden they are comfortable knowing they will be taken in and released into the interior of the U.S.

Chief Patrol Agent Jason Owens told Congress that large groups of illegals simply cool their heels and “wait for us to arrive.” One lawmaker vehemently protested this utter lack of law enforcement.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) told the Daily Mail that blame rests at the feet of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. He said the recent trend of illegal migrants turning themselves in demonstrates the agency is “incentivizing brazen violation” of the law.

Meanwhile, Green confirmed that a possible impeachment inquiry of Mayorkas is looming.
