Border Patrol Barred From WA Schools Over Fear Of ‘Traumatizing’ Illegal Aliens
A school district in Washington state has unanimously voted to prohibit any Border Patrol agents from entering schools over supposed emotional distress they cause for illegal aliens.
The Spokane school district made the decision in response to the radical pro-illegal alien advocacy group Latinos En Spokane’s demands to protect illegal alien children from supposedly becoming “traumatized” by the mere presence of a Border Patrol agent in the school environment.
The new policy also prohibits school staff members from cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in any way, or releasing any information that could potentially compromise an illegal alien student’s security.
One school board member, Nikki Otero Lockwood, confirmed that this decision would also apply to guest speaker events, noting that immigration enforcement agents would not be allowed to participate.
This new policy will apply to every public school within the district.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) chief patrol agent Lloyd Easterling, who oversees the Spokane Sector, has spoken out about the “unfortunate” policy changes — pointing out that Border Patrol agents are not visiting schools to enforce immigration laws, as they simply visit the schools for education purposes.
“Agents and officers from CBP attend countless events at schools throughout the nation — without controversy. CBP personnel work tirelessly day in and day out to protect our nation from a variety of threats to include terrorists and dangerous narcotics. CBP routinely honors requests from local law enforcement agencies to assist in life-threatening situations, including active shooter incidents at schools,” Easterling declared in a statement posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.
This decision from the Spokane school district comes as many Americans have been demanding that governments at every level increase their cooperation with ICE, as illegal immigration has consistently reached record levels recently, which corresponds to a significant increase in illegal alien crime.
Washington state is one of several Democrat-run states that have declared themselves to be a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens, which means that law enforcement agencies refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement agents. Illegal aliens in these sanctuary states are given the same rights as actual Americans — including allowing their children to attend taxpayer-funded public school without actually paying taxes — and are even given extra privileges that many struggling Americans do not have, such as taxpayer-funded healthcare, cash assistance, free housing and other resources.
As the Border Patrol Union noted in a post on X, these sanctuary cities and states are places where “illegal aliens are welcomed, provided for and actively protected from ICE and deportation.”
The union also listed each “sanctuary state” in the post, including: “California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Utah, Vermont and Washington.”
