Catholics struck back against the highly controversial move by the Los Angeles Dodgers to honor an LGBT organization well-known for mocking their faith. A seven-figure ad campaign is now blanketing the area in protest of the act.

CatholicVote is a conservative non-profit based in Wisconsin, and the group took action to counter the Pride Night event by the Major League Baseball club.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI) were awarded the “Community Hero Award” in front of empty seats as thousands protested outside the stadium. The recipients are infamous for their insulting portrayals of sacred Christian themes.

After the Dodgers extended their invitation in May, SPI members displayed their true colors for all to see. Videos went viral of their “Hunky Jesus” contest where contestants did pole dances around a man at the cross.

In a moment of clarity, the Dodgers uninvited the hate group from Friday’s event and even announced an upcoming “Christian Faith Night.” Amid backlash from LGBT radicals, the team relented and reinvited the activists to be honored at the game.

The explosive ad pulled no punches.

Titled “The Dodgers Have Lost Their Way,” the ad began with the narrator recounting the heroism of Jackie Robinson, MLB’s first Black player, and the team rallying around him.

That is changing, the ad declared, since “a prominent, anti-Catholic hate group will be honored on the field…A fringe group like this? Honored? Awarded? Celebrated?”

The narrator continued by saying, “There is no equality in mocking women religious, no tolerance in hate, no pride in anti-Catholic bigotry.”

Many took to social media during and after the protests were held outside of the Dodgers game with the San Francisco Giants. They, along with CatholicVote, took exception to the celebration of what the SPI described as a “leading-edge Order of queer and trans nuns.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tweeted that the protest “was one of the best things I’ve seen happen this year. We have had enough.”

Commentator Graham Allen posted “the world is over the woke agenda…WE ARE WITH YOU!!!”

And filmmaker and former U.S. congressional candidate Robby Starbuck celebrated the “incredible turnout to stand up against the @Dodgers celebrating sacrilegious mockery of Jesus. We’re fighting a spiritual battle!”

If only the Los Angeles Dodgers had stuck to their convictions.
