A 23-year-old Colombian woman known as “The Doll” has been arrested for her alleged involvement in several gang-related murders, including the killing of her ex-boyfriend. Authorities say Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodriguez, also known as “La Muneca,” was a central figure in orchestrating violent crimes in Barrancabermeja.

Rodriguez was reportedly leading a group of hitmen tied to the Los de la M gang, spreading fear across the region. Her arrest comes after the July 23 assassination of her former boyfriend, Deyvy Jesus, in a rural area near Piedecuesta. According to police, Rodriguez lured him under the pretense of resolving a financial dispute, but he was fatally shot by two men on a motorcycle, allegedly acting on her orders.

Magdalena Medio police apprehended Rodriguez along with two accomplices: Paula Valentina Joya Rueda, known as “Gorda Sicaria,” and another individual identified as “Leopoldo.” During the arrests, authorities confiscated a revolver and a 9-millimeter pistol, which are being examined to determine if they were used in the recent killings.

Lt. Col. Mauricio Herrara of the Magdalena Medio police praised the arrests as a step toward reducing violence in the region. “With the capture of alias La Muneca and alias Leopoldo, a period of calm has been created in the region. These arrests mark progress in the dismantling of criminal structures responsible for the recent homicides,” he said.

Rodriguez’s notoriety extends beyond her alleged crimes, as her arrest attracted public attention for its spectacle. Videos of her being escorted by police turned her perp walk into a public display, with her alias becoming widely discussed.

While charges against Rodriguez and her accomplices have yet to be announced, her arrest highlights the region’s struggle with violent crime. In Bucaramanga, where the homicide rate averages one killing every three days, authorities continue to crack down on organized crime networks.
