Comer Reveals Which Fox News Host He Refuses To Engage With
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) made a surprising revelation earlier this week during an interview with Newsmax host Eric Bolling — revealing that he no longer appears on “Fox & Friends” because of co-host Steve Doocy.
Fox News as a whole has been losing support from the conservative base over the past year, especially after the network fired its most popular and most conservative host, Tucker Carlson.
The network has also been called out for moving to the left in its coverage of several issues, including expressing support for transgenderism and foreign intervention.
Doocy, who was once popular among conservatives, has recently begun siding with Democrats and the establishment. Specifically, Comer was outraged when he heard Doocy downplay the House investigations into President Joe Biden’s alleged corruption — especially when he claimed that there was no evidence that the president was involved in his family’s business schemes.
Speaking with Comer, Bolling expressed his concern about so-called “conservative” media hosts “siding with the Bidens.”
“Forget the Democrats like [Rep.] Dan Goldman [D-NY] who say there’s no evidence. My concern is when the media, especially the conservative media, starts siding with the Bidens. Listen to Steve Doocy over at Fox saying you don’t have evidence,” the Newsmax host said.
Bolling then played a clip of Doocy trying to make the case that Republicans don’t have the evidence to accuse the president of being involved in his son’s corrupt business dealings.
“They’ve connected the dots, the Department of Justice did on Hunter, but they have not shown where Joe Biden, you know, did anything illegally,” Doocy falsely claimed.
Meanwhile, House Republican investigators have already released evidence of the president’s alleged involvement in his family’s business dealings, including two large checks written to Joe Biden from his brother James Biden, as well as “direct monthly payments” from Hunter Biden’s “Owasco PC” business account to Joe Biden.
Comer was frustrated with Doocy’s comments, telling Bolling: “Well, I think we’ve done a pretty good job connecting the dots. We’ve traced two checks from influence peddling schemes going directly into Joe Biden’s pocket.”
The Newsmax host then asked Comer his opinion about why Doocy would essentially claim that House Republicans have found nothing after all of the hard work they’ve put into their investigations into Joe Biden.
“He’s had that position from the very beginning. I’ve quit going on Fox & Friends because of Doocy, you know? I mean, he’s the one guy on Fox that’s been very critical of the investigation,” Comer responded. “I have my theory why, and we’ll talk about that at a later point, but at the end of the day, he’s entitled to his opinion, but I don’t think the average viewer of Fox News agrees with Doocy one bit.”
The Oversight Committee chairman never elaborated on his “theory” about Doocy’s criticism.
