The battle of the billionaires could be fought in the world’s most iconic venue — the Colosseum in Rome. Tech moguls Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are set to square off in a bout that UFC President Dana White said could rake in $1 billion in revenue.

White appeared on Mike Tyson’s “Hotboxin” podcast and revealed he spoke with Italy’s minister of culture about the event. According to TMZ, there had not been “formal contact” concerning the fight but a conversation took place.

The UFC head told Tyson that a meeting did occur with Italian officials about the prospect of bringing the fight to Rome.

With several expletives thrown in, White said the fight will feature two of the most powerful men in the world as well as two of the richest. He said that will be the type of event that “your [expletive] grandmother would watch.”

A potential hitch developed recently when Musk reported the possibility of going under the knife before facing Zuckerberg. After the owner of X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, said the exact date of the brawl is “in flux,” he explained why.

Musk posted, “I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow. May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”

The Tesla and SpaceX owner said last year that he injured discs in his back in a previous bout with a sumo wrestler. Even with the breaking injury news, White assured the public that “nobody’s ducking anybody…You’re talking about a couple of eccentric billionaires.”

Las Vegas was the site initially believed to be first in line for the bout, though reports in early summer indicated that the Colosseum may be in the running.

The amphitheater, which is nearly 2,000 years old, can only accommodate a few hundred spectators inside when temporary seating is erected. It was 2003 when Sir Paul McCartney performed inside the Colosseum for 400 fans in a charity event.

Musk’s possible surgery is one of multiple factors making the Aug. 26 target being bandied about seem unrealistic. Zuckerberg originally declared he is prepared to rumble anytime, but no firm date or setting seems close.
