Elon Musk: Kamala Harris Will Use Lawfare To Shut Down X If Elected
Elon Musk, owner of X and Tesla, claims Vice President Kamala Harris would use legal tactics to silence X if she wins the 2024 election. In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Musk said a Harris administration would seek to shut down X through lawsuits and legal actions, a method Musk referred to as “lawfare.”
“They won’t let X continue as it is,” Musk told Carlson, predicting that Harris would employ any legal means necessary to target the platform. Musk believes his businesses are already being targeted because of his stance on free speech and his support for President Donald Trump’s bid for the White House.
Musk referenced a lawsuit filed by the Biden administration in 2023 against SpaceX for not hiring asylum seekers, despite the company’s work with technologies subject to national security laws. He also mentioned a lawsuit from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against Tesla for alleged racial discrimination.
Musk, who has donated to Republican campaigns and spoken at Trump’s rallies, said he expects more legal challenges under a Harris administration. He sees these actions as an attempt to stifle dissent and suppress platforms that allow free expression, like X.
