Bob Unanue, the man who built Goya Foods into a household name and spent nearly 50 years leading the company founded by his family, has been forced out by his own board. The decision, made in a closed-door vote, removes Unanue from the company his grandfather started in 1936, effectively robbing the business from the family that made it a success.

Unanue was not just a businessman — he was a patriot, a fierce advocate for American values and a leader in the fight against child trafficking. Through his initiative Goya Cares, he dedicated himself to exposing the horrific reality of human trafficking and worked alongside former Trump officials like Tom Homan to locate missing children. He also served as an executive producer for Sound of Freedom, a film that brought the horrors of child exploitation to national attention.

Despite his tireless efforts to make a difference, the board of Goya turned against him. Unanue revealed that he was blindsided by the vote and given no explanation for why he was being removed from the company that his family had built over generations. “I will not be silenced,” he declared, promising to continue his fight against trafficking and standing up for the values that made Goya a success in the first place.

The timing of the board’s decision has raised serious concerns. Unanue’s removal comes as he was ramping up efforts to combat trafficking at the southern border, working to find the over 325,000 missing children who have vanished in just the past two years. His work directly challenged powerful interests, and now, just as he was gaining momentum, his own company has betrayed him.

Goya’s decision has angered many Americans who saw Unanue as a champion of free speech, business success and the fight against human trafficking. Supporters are calling on consumers to contact Goya and demand accountability for what they see as a betrayal of a great American leader and his family’s legacy.
