While the Biden administration chooses to focus on a supposed uptick in “Islamophobia,” there is mounting evidence of harassment — and worse — aimed at Jews across the United States and around the world.

America’s elite universities have been a breeding ground for such sentiment as pro-Palestine rallies have broken out in the wake of the Hamas terror attack on Israel. Days after a student group at Harvard University released a scathing anti-Israel screed, a demonstration on campus resulted in the apparent targeting of a Jewish student.

According to reports, Harvard Law Review editor Ibrahim Bharmal was among those behind the physical and verbal harassment.

The unidentified student was reportedly confronted as he tried to cross through the mob of protesters on the way from his on-campus residence. At various points during the encounter, he can be heard telling those around him not to touch him and explaining that he lived nearby.

Multiple students identified from the resulting video, including Bharmal, were included in a complaint filed with university police and the FBI.

“An Israeli student on his way to class pulled his phone out to film the rioters and he was attacked,” the statement submitted to federal authorities explained. “He was assaulted both physically and verbally. Throughout the assault he kept calm, but was aggressively attacked by Pro-Palestine rioters.”

Furthermore, the statement asserted that two of those who participated had already been identified as Harvard employees “and have not yet been dismissed from their posts.”

Bharmal, who could be seen in the video carrying a traditional Palestinian headscarf and chanting “shame” in the face of the Jewish student, was also reportedly affiliated with the Harvard South Asian Law Students Association, which was among the organizations that initially endorsed the aforementioned anti-Israel statement.

Collectively known as the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups, the statement these students released declared, in part: “We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for the unfolding violence.”

The backlash against the declaration included a call from some business leaders to identify the letter’s authors to ensure that prospective employers would not hire them without having knowledge of their anti-Israel sentiments.
