Robin DiAngelo, the author of White Fragility, is under fire for allegedly plagiarizing minority scholars in her doctoral thesis. The University of Washington is investigating claims that DiAngelo copied content from Asian-American academics without proper attribution. Critics see this as blatant hypocrisy from a woman who has made a career accusing White people of racism while profiting off the work of minorities. Despite positioning herself as a progressive voice against racism, DiAngelo is now facing serious questions about the ethics and integrity of her scholarship.

DiAngelo’s 2004 thesis reportedly contains 20 instances of alleged plagiarism, including sections lifted from scholars like Thomas Nakayama and Stacey Lee. Peter Wood, president of the National Association of Scholars, described these actions as rising to the level of “forgery” and accused DiAngelo of intellectual dishonesty. Many find it ironic that someone who preaches racial sensitivity is now accused of exploiting the very people she claims to advocate for.

Since the publication of White Fragility, DiAngelo has become a leading figure in corporate and academic circles, pushing anti-White narratives. Her book surged in popularity following the death of George Floyd in 2020, despite facing criticism for its divisive and guilt-based approach to racial issues. DiAngelo’s lectures have been widely adopted in workplace training sessions, often pushing the notion that White people inherently benefit from racism.

The accusations of plagiarism highlight a deeper irony: DiAngelo’s rise to fame was built on criticizing White privilege, yet she allegedly relied on the work of minority scholars without proper credit. As the university’s investigation unfolds, many are questioning whether DiAngelo’s claims of fighting racism are merely a façade masking her own self-serving agenda.

The hypocrisy is clear—DiAngelo’s anti-White rhetoric is now tainted by her alleged exploitation of minority voices. This incident exposes the contradictions at the heart of her activism, revealing a deeper issue of who truly benefits from the current racial discourse.
