Islamist Forces In Syria Wipe Out Christian Villages As Mass Executions Continue

Mass killings of Christians and Alawites have intensified in Syria as the new Islamist regime, backed by Al Qaeda-linked forces, expands its control. In the past few days alone, more than 1,800 people have been executed, with entire communities disappearing under the rule of Syria’s new government.
The crisis began when President Bashar Al Assad, who had protected Christians in Syria from terrorists like ISIS, and his government collapsed in December, forcing him to flee to Russia. Islamist fighters quickly moved in to take power, installing Ahmed al-Sharaa as the country’s new leader. Despite early promises of stability, his government has unleashed a brutal campaign of terror against religious minorities.

Reports from the ground detail horrifying massacres. Armed fighters have stormed Christian villages, executing men, women and children. Churches have been burned, priests murdered and entire neighborhoods emptied in a wave of ethnic cleansing. Survivors have fled to the mountains, though many fear there is nowhere safe left to go.
The response from world leaders has been nonexistent. The United Nations acknowledged “escalating violence” but failed to recognize the religious nature of the killings. Western media has largely ignored the atrocities, instead portraying the situation as political instability rather than a full-scale religious purge.
Despite its military strength, Israel has not responded to the crisis. Though it has warned about the dangers of an Islamist-controlled Syria, it has done nothing to protect the Christian population from the ongoing slaughter. Calls for international intervention have so far gone unanswered.
As the massacres continue, the fate of Syria’s Christian community hangs in the balance. With no outside support, they face annihilation at the hands of the terrorist-backed regime now controlling their country.
