Jill Stein: Democrats Are Working To Block Green Party From Ballots In Key States
Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein says that Democrats are trying to keep her off ballots in multiple states, labeling their tactics as “anti-democratic.” In an interview with Breitbart, Stein claimed that the Democratic Party is using lawsuits and legal maneuvers to shut out competition. “They are pulling out all the stops to basically shut out political competition,” she said.
The most recent legal challenge was filed by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in Wisconsin, where they asked the state Supreme Court to disqualify the Green Party from appearing on the ballot. The DNC’s petition argues that Stein and her running mate, Butch Ware, are ineligible because the Green Party lacks the necessary state representatives to appoint electors.
Stein’s campaign dismissed the petition as baseless. “This is a completely frivolous lawsuit intended to waste our time and resources,” said campaign advisor Jason Call, who criticized the Democrats for using legal loopholes to suppress third parties. Stein also noted that Democrats have been actively sabotaging her campaign, even withholding public funds she claims the Green Party qualified for.
As the Wisconsin Elections Commission prepares to certify candidates later this month, the DNC is pushing the state Supreme Court to block Stein from appearing on the ballot. Stein warned that the Green Party will respond by running more candidates in Wisconsin if Democrats continue these tactics.
The legal battles are part of a broader pattern in this election cycle, as third-party candidates face increasing resistance from the two major parties, particularly in states where margins are tight.
