Kari Lake Gives Strong Pro-Trump Rebuttal To Biden’s State Of The Union
Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake responded to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday evening with a fiery condemnation of the president’s failed leadership and a strong endorsement of his likely 2024 opponent, former president and current presumtive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
On Thursday night after Biden’s address, there were several rebuttals to the president’s falsehood-laden speech — including the official response from Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) and Lake’s response posted to social media.
In the video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, Lake promoted Trump as the solution to Biden’s disastrous presidency.
“What we just saw from Joe Biden was not a State of the Union. No, what we just witnessed from Joe Biden was a state of confusion,” the Republican Senate candidate declared.
“To the everyday hard-working Americans that just heard that speech, I’m sure you feel gaslit and lied to,” Lake added. “The country Joe was talking about looks nothing like the reality that we all have been forced to face under his failed leadership — skyrocketing inflation, unaffordable housing, crime running rampant and a world that’s on fire.”
She went on to argue that the actual state of the Union under Biden’s leadership is “weak” — noting that the “American dream is on life support.”
“It wasn’t that long ago that President Donald J. Trump was in the Oval Office and we the people got to experience peace and prosperity,” Lake continued.
“Under President Trump, we had a historic economy,” she added. “We had law and order, we had a secure border and we were energy independent and the world was at peace. America was safe and secure and prosperous under President Trump. But in just three short years, all of that safety and security and prosperity has been destroyed since Joe Biden took office.”
Lake also slammed Biden for his policies’ impact on the American people — highlighting the murder of Laken Riley at the hands of an illegal alien repeat-offender who had been released into the U.S. thanks to Biden’s open border policies and allowed to stay in the country after Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies set him free following previous arrests.
“Americans are struggling in Joe Biden’s economy,” Lake said. “For many, the American dream is out of reach. For others like Laken Riley, the American dream has been completely snuffed out. American sons and daughters are being slaughtered at the hands of criminal, illegal aliens who have broken into our country.
Biden appeared not to be fully aware of Riley’s case during his State of the Union speech, as he had no plan to mention her until heckling from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) forced him to. Even then, Biden got her name wrong, calling her “Lincoln Riley” — though he did accidentally admit she was killed by an “illegal,” which prompted outrage from the left.
