Kentucky Lawmaker Promotes Giving Child Dolls To ‘Minor-Attracted Persons’
In a Thursday meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on the Judiciary, one Kentucky state senator promoted more leftist language manipulation — push the use of “minor-attracted persons” (MAPs) instead of the word “pedophile,” while also calling for the use of life-size child exploitation dolls for these “MAPs.”
Kentucky state Sen. Karen Berg (D) elicited outrage on social media after a clip of her speaking out against a bill that would make the possession of these dolls a felony offense went viral.
The measure, House Bill 207, passed in the Kentucky State House in February with a 93-0 vote. It was also passed in the Senate Judiciary Committee and will now head to the full Senate for a vote.
The legislation makes it a felony to own or sell these child dolls, which are defined in the bill as “an anatomically correct or anatomically precise doll, mannequin, or robot that may consist of an entire body, pelvis, or any other body part, with features of, or with features that resemble, those of a minor” that are intended to be used for vulgar purposes. The bill also makes it illegal to use artificial intelligence (AI) to create depictions of child exploitative material, including through computer-generated images or using a real image as a base.
Berg explained during the meeting that she had been “completely unfamiliar” with the existence of these dolls, noting that she had to “Google it last night,” stating, “I was scared to put it in my search engine, but I did, and apparently, there is research on the subject, not much.”
“But there are what they call MAPs, minor-attracted persons,” she continued before claiming that “the limited amount of research that’s been done on these dolls, guys, suggests that they actually, for people who are attracted to minors, that these dolls actually decrease their proclivity to go out and attack children.”
Her comments only got worse from there, as she added that the use of these dolls “actually gives them a release that makes them less likely to go outside of their home. And what was interesting is the research did not support the same conclusions who were adult attracted using dolls, that did not diminish their proclivity to engage other people.”
Berg was slammed on social media for her outrageous comments.
“Senator Karen Berg went to Google and found lots of compelling research that turned her into a pedo-sympathizer. Stunning admission from the people that mock you for doing your own research,” one user wrote.
“Pure evil, criminally stupid or both,” wrote Robby Starbuck.
Podcast host Breanna Morello responded to the clip by pointing to a simple solution to prevent pedophiles from hurting children: “The death penalty.”
“What Kentucky State Senator Karen Berg said is disgusting and evil, but it also reflects a common misunderstanding of desire,” the official X account for The Michael Knowles Show wrote, sharing a clip of the Daily Wire host explaining the issue in depth.
The outrage led to Berg issuing a statement attempting to walk back her comments.
“As a mom and a physician I am of course deeply concerned with the harm of pedophilia and I regret if my question in committee didn’t convey that,” she wrote, adding that she “voted in favor of House Bill 207” and claiming that this “stance aligns with my commitment to safeguarding the well-being of our youth and holding perpetrators accountable” — despite the fact that her comments in the Senate indicate otherwise.
