Leftist Donors Quietly Funding ‘Conservative’ Media Orgs

Recent revelations have sparked alarm within conservative circles as it has been uncovered that leftist megadonors, including those tied to George Soros, are secretly funding conservative-appearing media outlets.  

Compact magazine, founded by editor Sohrab Ahmari, has been revealed to be a recipient of financial backing from Soros’ Open Society Foundations. This discovery has raised serious concerns about whether such outlets are genuinely representing conservative values or are being used to manipulate the conservative narrative.

Compact promotes traditional values and has been sympathetic to authoritarian figures like Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a stance that has attracted conservative readers. However, the financial ties to Soros, a figure well-known for his leftist agenda, have led many to question whether Compact is truly conservative. Critics argue that the magazine is being used as a tool to subtly shift conservative discourse, promoting ideas that align with leftist goals while maintaining a conservative façade.

This concern is not limited to Compact. All Seasons Press, a publisher that markets itself as a supporter of conservative authors, has also come under scrutiny. It was revealed that Scott Bessent, a former Soros associate, is linked to the press. Conservative author Lee Smith, who had signed a book deal with All Seasons Press, filed a lawsuit against the publisher after his book, which criticized global elites like Soros, became entangled in legal disputes. Smith alleged that the publisher was attempting to suppress his work, using its conservative branding as a cover for left-wing manipulation.

The lawsuit involving Smith further highlighted the growing trend of leftist elites infiltrating conservative spaces. Smith’s legal battle revealed that All Seasons Press had concealed its ties to Bessent, raising suspicions that the company’s true purpose was to suppress conservative voices. This revelation has caused significant unease among conservatives, who fear that other trusted outlets may also be under the influence of leftist donors.
