Noem Offers To Personally Deliver Abbott More Razor Wire
Texas has been in a feud with the federal government for years over efforts to defend the border against a wave of undocumented immigrants that has overwhelmed the state’s resources since President Joe Biden entered office.
Most recently, the U.S. Supreme Court sided with the White House by permitting Border Patrol agents to cut down razor wire installed along the border by state authorities.
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has vowed to continue fighting for his state’s ability to defend its border and officials have already begun installing more razor wire, which was not specifically prohibited in the high court’s ruling.
Abbott’s efforts have garnered support from other state leaders frustrated by the Biden administration’s reluctance to prioritize border security amid what he insists is an “invasion.”
During a recent interview with Fox News Channel’s Martha MacCallum, GOP South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem expressed her willingness to pitch in on behalf of her Texas counterpart’s mission.
“Gov. Abbott has done the exact right thing,” she said. “And I’ll drive him more razor wire from South Dakota if I have to for him to do his job.”
Noem, who has previously sent members of her state’s National Guard to the Mexico border to assist Texas National Guard troops, went on to denounce the Biden administration’s approach to the border crisis.
“Our Border Patrol agents do not support what President Biden is doing,” she said. “Our [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] agents on the ground do not support what President Biden is doing. Democrats in the country do not support what President Biden is doing at the southern border and they disagree with him fundamentally.”
Accusing the president of being “so out of touch” and determined to transform the U.S. into Europe, the governor called for a united front against the White House’s push for open borders.
“The inhumanity of the Biden policies is destroying America and I never thought in my life that I could see a country change as fast as it has,” Noem concluded. “So it is time that we stand shoulder to shoulder and we stand up now to make sure we protect the future of this country.”
