Rep. Steube Introduces Four Articles Of Impeachment Against Biden
Although President Joe Biden has been facing calls for his impeachment since the earliest days of his administration, such efforts within the Republican Party have gained much wider support in light of recent evidence of possible corruption and bribery.
Whistleblower testimony, the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, and internal government documents have all supported the GOP assertion that the elder Biden has long been involved in — and appears to have financially benefited from — his son’s controversial foreign business deals.
Now, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) is outlining his party’s case against the president in articles of impeachment introduced late last week.
“It’s long past time to impeach Joe Biden,” he wrote in a statement released on Friday. “He has undermined the integrity of his office, brought disrepute on the Presidency, betrayed his trust as President, and acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice at the expense of America’s citizens.”
In total, Steube’s assessment includes four separate articles, starting with allegations that Biden traded his political influence as vice president for bribes that enriched him, his son, and his brother, James.
The Florida Republican also lays out the case that the president obstructed justice in hopes of stymying a federal case involving alleged crimes committed by Hunter Biden. This impeachment article relies on testimony by IRS whistleblowers who asserted that “the Biden campaign improperly colluded with Justice Department officials” to slow-roll or ignore the case against the younger Biden.
A third article accuses Biden of committing fraud while the final one claims that he provided funding for his son’s illegal use of narcotics and solicitation of prostitutes.
“The evidence continues to mount by the day — the Biden Crime Family has personally profited off Joe’s government positions through bribery, threats, and fraud,” Steube added. “Joe Biden must not be allowed to continue to sit in the White House, selling out our country
While Biden has previously insisted on multiple occasions that he never discussed business with his son, the White House has notably shifted its messaging in response to the latest revelations. Last month, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would only assert that Joe and Hunter Biden were never “in business” together.
