A restaurant in a conservative area of Texas has been forced to shut down and relocate to an “extremely liberal” city after losing business for hosting an explicit and inappropriate drag queen show with small children in attendance.

Anderson Distillery and Grill has announced that it will be closing and relocating to a new area, reportedly due to a loss in business as a result of outrage in the Roanoke, Texas, community over their hosting of a drag show for children.

A protest was held outside of the event at the time, while BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales infiltrated the drag show to gather footage of the disturbing event. Gonzales — along with her producer, Kris Cruz, and independent journalist Tayler Hansen — shared several videos of the drag show on social media.

Gonzales also reportedly spread word about the event on social media ahead of time to the “very conservative” community to warn them that the local restaurant had supported such an event.

In response to news of potential protests, dozens of armed Antifa members showed up to “guard” the event, standing on street corners in an attempt to prevent protesters from interrupting the drag show — which featured men masquerading as women in highly suggestive costumes and makeup, who danced and accepted dollar bills from children.

The Blaze is crediting Gonzales for the restaurant’s relocation, noting in their reporting that her “pressure campaign may have worked.”

In a Tuesday Facebook post, Anderson Distillery and Grill announced that their Roanoke restaurant would be closing its doors. However, they confirmed that the restaurant would be relocating “to the vibrant town of Denton” — which Gonzales has described as “extremely liberal.”

The BlazeTV host celebrated the news in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter — declaring that the relocation was the result of “THE POWER OF COMMUNITY PUSHBACK.”

“Last year, I exposed Anderson Distillery’s disgusting “all-ages” drag show with @TaylerUSA in Roanoke, TX, a very conservative suburb outside Fort Worth. The owner complained that business was never the same, as members of the community rejected the woke restaurant and gave other restaurants their business instead. Today, they announced they are closing down in Roanoke and moving the extremely liberal town of Denton. Reminder: when you use the power of the pocketbook, the trash will take itself out!” Gonzales tweeted, sharing a screenshot of the restaurant’s Facebook post.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson has claimed that the move was solely due to needing more space — even claiming, without evidence, that the restaurant had received more business because of the “media attention” surrounding the drag show. They did not specifically mention the event.

“We have been actively looking for a larger facility to start retail distribution, as we’ve had strong demand for our product from multiple companies that we cannot meet at our current size,” a statement from the restaurant claimed. “We would also like to add a brewery license, but again are limited on space. Roanoke has been a great location, but we can only make enough product to service our own bar! The media attention after the first few months helped our brand explode, but that was a year ago.”
