RFK Jr. Tells Sen. Johnson’s Panel ‘We Are Mass Poisoning Our Children’
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. offered a dire assessment of America’s health policies during a panel led by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), claiming that the country is “mass poisoning” its children through harmful food systems and corporate-influenced regulatory bodies. Kennedy’s testimony centered on the dangers of processed foods and the failure of government agencies to protect public health.
Kennedy criticized the country’s food stamp system, highlighting that 70% of food stamp purchases go toward processed foods. He also condemned the government for subsidizing unhealthy industries, noting that tobacco receives eight times more subsidies than fruits and vegetables. “It makes no sense if we want a healthy country,” he said.
The panel, called “American Health & Nutrition: A Second Opinion,” focused on the role of Big Pharma, childhood obesity, and corruption within health-related agencies like the FDA and CDC. Kennedy accused these agencies of being controlled by corporate interests, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. He warned that these conflicts of interest have turned regulatory bodies into threats to the health of American citizens.
Kennedy further claimed that 80% of grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) go to scientists who later profit from products they develop, leading to a system that benefits corporations at the expense of public health. “These agencies are no longer functioning to protect Americans,” Kennedy argued.
In his closing remarks, Kennedy called for a radical overhaul of the system, stating, “The good news is we can change this very quickly, but it requires taking a sledgehammer to the corruption that controls our regulatory agencies.”
