Anti-Trump extremist Rick Wilson has officially been kicked off X after publishing a disturbing post that many viewed as encouraging violence. Wilson, best known for co-founding the Lincoln Project with disgraced former GOP operatives like John Weaver, shared an article titled “Kill Tesla, Save The Country.”.

The post featured a photo of a Tesla Cybertruck on fire outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, paired with a caption that read, “Elon has a weak spot. Attack.” The post didn’t sit well with many, including Elon Musk, who responded by calling Wilson “a psycho.” Musk’s platform first suspended Wilson for 30 days, but by Thursday, that penalty became permanent.

Wilson tried to spin the controversy by claiming his article was just a critique of Elon Musk and a call for peaceful economic tactics, not actual violence. However, critics across the political spectrum weren’t buying it — especially considering Wilson’s long history of inflammatory and hateful language. Years ago, Wilson even said someone should “put a bullet in Donald Trump.” Two attempts on Trump’s life happened in 2024 alone.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t mince words. She labeled the recent targeting of Tesla and its owners as “domestic terrorism” and vowed to go after not only the attackers but anyone helping to coordinate or fund them. “We are coming after you,” she said. “We will find you.”

Wilson’s ban came after Libs of TikTok highlighted the post and called it a threat. The backlash quickly escalated, with Wilson responding by mocking what he called the “MAGA response,” while refusing to take down his post. In a separate video, he lashed out at Musk with foul language and proudly celebrated his X account’s history before the ban.

The Lincoln Project, the group Wilson helped create, has long served as a megaphone for Democrat smears dressed up as conservative dissent. While pretending to speak for Republicans, Wilson and his allies worked to undermine conservatives at every turn. His partner in the project, John Weaver, was accused of sexually harassing young men, but the group refused to disband.

Wilson left the Republican Party in 2016 after the party embraced a more conservative, America-first agenda under the leadership of President Donald Trump. By 2019, he helped launch the Lincoln Project, dedicated to preventing Trump’s re-election — and promoting a leftist agenda under the guise of old-guard conservatism.

Attorney General Bondi confirmed that the Department of Justice has already charged several individuals linked to anti-Tesla attacks, some of whom are facing five-year mandatory minimum sentences.
