Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a legal win for President-elect Donald Trump’s border security agenda, blocking the Biden Administration from selling off additional border wall materials. A federal judge presided over the hearing on December 27, granting a court order to prevent further disposals for 30 days.

The move follows reports that the Biden Administration had been auctioning segments of the border wall for fractions of their value. The court order ensures the remaining materials will be preserved, allowing Trump’s administration to use them for border construction.

Paxton’s office argued that the Biden Administration’s actions violated a previous injunction from May 2024. That injunction required statutorily allocated funds for the wall to be used as intended after an attempt by the federal government to redirect the money was deemed illegal.

In court, the Biden Administration agreed to comply with the new order. The judge also ruled that Texas is entitled to documentation verifying the administration has upheld the May injunction. Violations, including selling off materials bought with the protected funds, could lead to sanctions or contempt of court charges.

The ruling, reported by KVIA, highlights tensions over immigration policy, with Texas playing a key role in enforcing measures to strengthen border control. Attorney General Paxton hailed the ruling as a major victory for border security, stating, “This ensures President Trump will have access to these materials to address critical immigration issues.” He accused the Biden Administration of undermining national security to obstruct Trump’s policies.
