Texas Rancher Labels Mayorkas, Biden Traitors Amid Border Crisis
A growing number of Republican officials, joined by a handful of outspoken Democrats across the country, have placed the blame for an ongoing border crisis squarely on the Biden administration — and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in particular.
While several GOP lawmakers have been pushing for Mayorkas’ impeachment, some Americans who have been dealing with the impact of unchecked illegal immigration on a daily basis for years have an even more scathing assessment of his actions.
In a recent segment of “Fox & Friends” on the Fox News Channel, reporter Lawrence Jones was in the Texas border town of Eagle Pass and spoke to a local rancher who was clearly fed up with the constant stream of undocumented migrants illegally crossing from Mexico into the U.S.
After Jones captured footage of one such illegal entry, Wayne Knight chimed in: “This is incredible. And I see the same thing on the ranch. All the trash and the debris and the damage. I see that and I’m 20 miles south of here and I see the same thing there as what you’re seeing here.”
The on-air interview went on to address Knight’s assessment of Mayorkas, and the rancher did not hold back.
“He’s an absolute traitor,” Knight said. “He lies under oath. He says that the border is secure. It’s not. He took an oath to protect us, and he’s not doing it.”
His harsh evaluation was not limited to the DHS secretary.
“The whole administration is the same way,” he added. “Even our president, the president of the United States, I call him a traitor too.”
Knight went on to address President Joe Biden’s effort to prevent Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott from enforcing the immigration laws that federal authorities have effectively ignored for the past three years.
“It’s proof that he doesn’t care,” Knight insisted. “It’s crazy. Our governor is trying to protect us and take care of us here on our homeland, but yet our federal government is going to try to keep him from doing it? Treason.”
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) chided Mayorkas in a statement this week over his reluctance to appear before a panel considering his impeachment.
“It’s certainly telling that one of the primary excuses Secretary Mayorkas gave us for declining to appear next week is that he must host a delegation of Mexican officials,” Green wrote. “Yet again, this Secretary is putting the interests of Mexico ahead of the American people. Apparently, he needs to be reminded that Congress is a co-equal branch of government, and our Committee, not Mexico, has oversight over his department.”
