President Donald Trump has taken decisive action to revoke the security clearances of former National Security Advisor John Bolton, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan. The executive order, signed shortly after Trump’s inauguration, is aimed at sidelining Deep State figures who have used their access to classified information to undermine conservative Americans and target Trump’s America First agenda.

The order cites Bolton’s 2019 memoir as an example of reckless disclosure of sensitive information, stating that his actions compromised national security and eroded the trust future presidents need from their advisors. Trump’s administration argues that individuals like Bolton, Clapper and Brennan have long used their influence to push political agendas rather than defend the nation’s interests.

Trump has defended the move, stating that individuals no longer serving in government should not retain access to classified materials.

Among those affected by the executive order are 50 former intelligence officials who signed a 2020 letter attempting to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop scandal by labeling it as Russian disinformation. That letter has since been debunked, further fueling concerns about the intelligence community’s bias against conservatives.

Bolton has publicly criticized the revocation, expressing frustration and revealing that his Secret Service protection has also been rescinded. However, Trump has defended the move, stating that individuals no longer serving in government should not retain access to classified materials.

This latest action is part of Trump’s broader effort to dismantle the entrenched Deep State influence within the government. Other executive orders signed on his first day include measures to increase energy independence and eliminate regulatory barriers that have hindered economic growth.
