Woman Assaults Chipotle Employee Over Missing Meat In Burrito Bowl
A shocking altercation occurred at a Chipotle in Washington, D.C., when a woman, angry over a missing ingredient in her chicken burrito bowl, physically assaulted an employee. The incident, captured on video and shared widely online, shows the woman throwing a burrito bowl at employee Roberto Hernandez after being told the missing items could not be refunded at the store.
The trouble began when the woman received her UberEats order, which was missing the meat and condiments she claims to have requested. She went to the Chipotle location, demanding a refund. However, she was told the refund would have to come through UberEats and was not available directly from the store.
In response, the woman went behind the counter and attempted to serve herself two replacement bowls. Hernandez tried to stop her, but when he grabbed one of the bowls, the woman retaliated by slamming it into his face. Hernandez, maintaining his composure, chose to walk away rather than escalate the situation.
The woman later spoke to WUSA-TV, acknowledging that her actions were wrong but still defending her actions, saying that once her food was taken, she had the right to take new food. She also mentioned she had been assaulted by “men” at the store in a prior incident.
Chipotle confirmed it would file a police report on Hernandez’s behalf. Hernandez, who is seeking additional security, said he was traumatized by the assault. The woman, who threatened to sue the company, has faced widespread criticism for her violent outburst.
