WWE wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson explained during a recent interview that he regrets the “division” he caused by endorsing President Joe Biden in 2020, and vowed not to repeat that mistake in this year’s presidential race.

The 51-year-old actor made the comments during an interview with Fox News host Will Cain, which was released on Friday. In the interview, Johnson was asked whether he was “happy” with the current state of the country, to which he responded, “No” — though he believes the country “can get better.”

“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” Johnson told Cain, explaining that he believed “back then” that he was in a position where he had “some influence” and thought it was his “job” to exercise that influence.

“I felt like that then, it’s my job now to exercise my influence and share this is who I’m going to endorse,” he added.

Johnson then admitted that choosing to publicly support Biden in the 2020 election caused “division,” noting that it was something that “tears [him] up.”

“Am I going to do that again this year? That answer’s no,” he continued.

“I also realized that what that caused back then, was something that tears me up in my gut back then and now, which is division,” Johnson added.

He also noted that he “started to realize” how divisive his endorsement was “months, and months and months later” — explaining that he saw how it “caused an incredible amount of division in our country” and vowing that he would not repeat that mistake.

Johnson’s endorsement of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, in which he declared them to be the “best choice to lead our country,” was the first political endorsement he had ever made.

“So I realized now going into this election, I’m not going to do that,” he told Cain. “I wouldn’t do that because my goal is to bring our country together. I believe in that in my DNA.”

In concluding the interview, Johnson made a particularly unifying declaration, stating: “But I will tell you this: While like a lot of us out there are not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people. And I trust that whoever they vote for, that’s going to be my president. And that’s who I’m going to support 100 percent.”

Of course, the left had an absolute meltdown over Johnson’s comments.

Keith Olbermann, who has been deemed the biggest sufferer of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” was one of several leftists who attacked the pro-wrestler for his comments.

“Who knew @TheRock was such a greedy coward,” he wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
