Numbers Of Chinese Illegal Migrants At Southern Border Surging
The ongoing disaster at America’s southern border, overseen and enabled by the Biden administration, is showing increasingly ominous evidence of grave threats to national security. A hearing last month before the House Oversight Committee revealed that almost 100 persons on the FBI terror watch list were encountered at the border during the last fiscal year. Reports now indicate that China is one of the countries producing more significant numbers of illegal migrants.
Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins posted a tweet on Sunday with a video of an encounter with Chinese nationals at the border.
He wrote in the caption to the video: “Chinese nationals are illegally crossing the border in unprecedented numbers in the RGV sector – up 920% compared to last year – and a cash cow for the cartels because they pay $30k+ to be smuggled across. Here is a group of 5 we encountered yesterday.”
The migrants appear to be traveling without any baggage or personal belongings. They acknowledged through broken English that they came from China to the southern border.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Chief Gloria Chavez acknowledged that since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2023 last October, there had been 1,577 apprehensions of Chinese immigrants in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) border sector alone.
CBP data indicates the volume of illegal immigration by Chinese nationals has increased significantly beginning around the time of the November 2020 presidential election.
More than 96.5% of the Chinese nationals apprehended at the border since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2020 were single adults.
The number of Chinese illegally crossing the border who become “gotaways” has grown so much that CBP has begun including instructions written in Mandarin on the rescue beacons near the border.
The rescue beacons are designed to assist Border Patrol agents working to rescue illegal migrants who are lost in dangerous and remote desert locations. The beacons include tall white towers with blue lights. A button is set up at ground level with instructions – printed in English, Spanish, and Mandarin – to press the button and wait for help.
Of course, it is impossible to know precisely how many more than 1.2 million gotaways who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration are Chinese nationals.
