The most recent development in the saga of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump delivered yet another astonishing display of wanton criminality from former President Obama’s Secretary of State. Amid the controversy of Trump’s indictment, Clinton found an opportune moment to profit and, in the eyes of some, gloat.

Clinton turned Trump’s indictment into a marketing ploy for her “But Her Emails” hats. “Bringing this back in light of recent news,” she tweeted, promoting the merchandise linked to her Onward Together group, which declares a mission of advancing progressive values.

This move by Clinton has elicited a chorus of criticism from conservative voices and sparked conversations about the double standards prevalent in our justice system. Critics point to the stark contrast between how Trump’s and Clinton’s email scandals were handled, with Trump facing an indictment while Clinton was never charged.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) was among the first to call Clinton out. “Gloating that there is a different standard of justice and that you are above the law is next level bulls–t,” Mace posted on Twitter.

It’s noteworthy that Clinton’s private email server scandal was a hot-button issue during her run against Trump for the White House in 2016. At the time, an FBI investigation found Clinton had stored classified information on several unsecured private servers. Yet, despite what was declared “extreme carelessness,” she was never charged.

Today, Trump has been indicted on 37 counts over alleged mishandling of classified documents. These developments leave many wondering if there are two tiers of justice in America – one for Trump and one for Clinton. As one Twitter user put it, Clinton is “gloating about getting away with” breaking the same laws Trump is now accused of violating.

Yet, despite the backlash, Clinton’s hats, sold for $32 each, continue to line the pockets of her political action group. Whether Clinton’s recent venture will advance her cause or further deepen the divide in American politics remains to be seen.
