HHS Releases Report Encouraging Transgender Procedures For Minors
President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released a report about “affirming LGBTQI+ youth” — essentially endorsing gender transition procedures for minors, including those that can lead to sterilization and mutilation of children’s bodies.
The report was released on Friday in honor of “Transgender Day of Visibility,” which came just days after a 28-year-old transgender individual committed a mass shooting at a Christian school, killing three children and three adults.
In their report titled “Moving Beyond Change Efforts: Evidence and Action to Support and Affirm LGBTQI+ Youth,” HHS encourages child transgenderism and affirming children in their claims that they are the opposite gender.
According to a press release, the report “provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific research and consensus that LGBTQI+ youth are resilient and can thrive when they are supported and affirmed, but that pervasive discrimination, rejection, and bullying of LGBTQI+ youth has led to a nationwide mental health crisis.”
“The report finds that this crisis is most acute for transgender youth, whose mental health and wellbeing is put at risk by policies that seek to restrict their access to appropriate health care and inclusion at school,” the press release states.
“HHS is releasing this report today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, to uplift transgender youth and the parents, teachers, and providers who support them,” the press release continues.
It then launches into a defense of dangerous medical interventions that are used in attempts to change a person’s body to resemble the opposite gender.
The release states: “For gender-diverse youth, gender-affirming care supports health and well-being — and should not be withheld or legally prohibited. Gender-affirming care is a highly specialized model of care that uses evidence-based practices to address distress arising from gender dysphoria.”
The so-called “affirming” model of care for minors with “gender dysphoria” includes administering puberty blockers and hormone therapy — drugs that often lead to sterilization. This method of care also may include dangerous, life-altering surgeries such as double mastectomies and phalloplasties.
“On Transgender Day of Visibility, and every day, we celebrate the courage and resilience of transgender people across this country in the face of violence, hatred, and bigotry,” said HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra.
The Biden administration’s decision to promote these dangerous procedures for minors comes as many Republican-led states are issuing bans on transgender procedures for minors.
In an effort to protect children from sterilization and mutilation, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) recently signed legislation banning transgender surgeries, hormone therapy and puberty blockers for minors.
Similar legislation was passed in Kentucky. While Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear initially vetoed the bill, the Republican-controlled legislature was able to override it, allowing the legislation to go into effect.
Meanwhile, transgender activists staged often-violent protests on “Transgender Day of Visibility” in response to the legislation protecting children, with the activists ignoring or even downplaying the mass shooting perpetrated by one of their own.
