Top House Republicans sent out messages to a dozen ex-intelligence officials who put their names on the infamous letter in October 2020 that falsely claimed the Hunter Biden laptop was not authentic but rather a piece of ‘Russian disinformation.’

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, first sent a letter to many of the 51 former intelligence officials in April 2022, only for the requests to go largely unanswered. Now, the Ohio congressman has reached out to a dozen of the officials once more. Joining Jordan was Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), who is the new leader of the House Intelligence Committee.

“The Judiciary Committee made a prior request to you for documents and information about the public statement you signed in October 2020 that falsely implied the New York Post’s reporting about Hunter Biden was the product of Russian disinformation,” the GOP letters read. “This request, to include a request for a transcribed interview before the Committees, remains outstanding. These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight.”

Jordan discussed the Hunter Biden laptop during an appearance on Fox News, reacting to the news of Hunter Biden finally admitting the infamous laptop belonged to himself. He additionally stated that the House Judiciary Committee has a focus on seeing how big government has worked with big tech to hide information from the American people.

The letter Jordan sent out in April 2022 instructed the officials to “identify all people with whom you communicated about the inception, drafting, editing, signing, publishing, or promotion” of the Hunter Biden Laptop Russian disinformation hoax and told them to “produce all documents and communications referring or relating to” the claim.

In the past, much like the aforementioned intelligence officials, Joe Biden has referred to the Hunter Biden laptop story as ‘Russian disinformation.’ The White House occupant said the story is “garbage” and a component of a “Russian plan” when he debated then-President Donald Trump in Oct. 2020.

“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plan,” asserted Biden. “They have said this is, has all the — four, five former heads of the CIA. Both parties say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”

He was likely referencing a report from Politico at the time, which was aptly titled, “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.”
