A new report from The Washington Post has uncovered yet another conflict of interest for Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was recently appointed special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden — revealing that he previously worked with Hunter’s late brother Beau Biden.

The far-left news outlet reported on Sunday that between 2007 and 2010, while Weiss was serving as acting U.S. attorney for Delaware, he worked “hand-in-glove” with Beau Biden — who was elected as Delaware attorney general in 2006. The outlet noted that Weiss likely knew Joe Biden during that time as well.

The Washington Post went on to detail how Weiss was hired by U.S. Attorney for Delaware Colm Connolly as first assistant U.S. attorney in 2007. After Connolly stepped down following the election of President Barack Obama and Vice President Biden, Weiss became the state’s acting U.S. attorney for two years before the Obama administration appointed Connolly’s replacement in December 2010. Weiss then returned to his previous position as first assistant U.S. attorney.

According to the Washington Post, “As the top federal prosecutor in Wilmington, Weiss collaborated with his local equivalent: Beau Biden, who had been elected Delaware attorney general in 2006. Weiss and Beau Biden conducted joint investigations and determined which office had jurisdiction in various cases.”

The outlet then cited Tim Mullaney Sr., who served as Beau Biden’s chief of staff at the state attorney general’s office — noting that Mullaney did not believe that Beau and Weiss had a relationship outside of work.

“We are always working hand-in-glove with federal government; there’s nothing unusual about that,” Mullaney is quoted as saying.

The Washington Post went on to point out that “it also wouldn’t have been strange for Weiss to run into Joe Biden.”

“Everybody knows everybody in Delaware, and it wasn’t unusual to see [Joe Biden] at the bookstore, the ice cream shop. It is normal,” Mullaney reportedly told the outlet.

An unnamed attorney who knows Weiss also reportedly told the outlet: “The state is a small town and everybody knows each other.”

In Delaware, Biden “has been the most consequential figure since 1972 and I’m sure he and Weiss crossed paths,” the attorney added.

One ironic event from Weiss’ past work with Beau Biden was pointed out by Breitbart News, as the outlet noted that Weiss — who tried to give Hunter Biden a sweetheart deal for tax violations — previously issued a statement alongside Beau celebrating a fraud conviction.

“We will continue to aggressively pursue all types of fraud in order to protect the public,” the statement read.

The news of Weiss’ connections to the Bidens comes as House Republicans investigating the Biden family business have raised concerns about his appointment as special counsel, especially as evidence continues to mount of President Biden’s involvement in his son’s illicit foreign business schemes.
