Bad news for beleaguered President Joe Biden came last week in a new poll that asked Americans their views on the continuing border crisis. It clearly showed that Democratic messaging attempting to pin the blame for the current invasion on Republicans fell on deaf ears.

The data was gathered by the Associated Press along with the National Opinion Research Center of the University of Chicago.

Of nearly 1,300 adults surveyed, a full 64% expressed support for hiring more Border Patrol agents to secure the southern border. A solid 58% backed hiring more immigration judges to adjudicate the huge backlog of cases caused by the open border.

Limiting asylum seekers and building a border wall garnered the support of 53% and 42% of the respondents.

Majorities of both Democrats and Republicans supported strengthening Border Patrol numbers, though there was a substantial disparity between the parties. Biden’s followers backed hiring more agents with 54% approval, while 79% of Republicans agreed with the proposition.

However, only 35% of Democrats sought to decrease asylum seekers, likely indicating they want to control the invasion more than end it.

What is clearly a major issue for Biden’s reelection hopes became more critical with a new study released last week. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) revealed that the foreign-born U.S. population exploded under the Democratic administration.

There are now 51 million people residing in the country who were born elsewhere. This skyrocketing number of course came about under Biden’s open border policies that ushered millions of unvetted illegals into American communities.

The number increased by a staggering 6.4 million in the first three years of Biden’s controversial tenure. That surge is four times higher than the rate under former President Donald Trump.

CIS research director and analysis author Steven Camarota was taken aback by the results. “We’ve never seen anything like this before over a three-year period of time. All prior records have been surpassed.”

Despite a dramatic increase in illegal migrants from far-flung locations around the globe, the engine is still Latin American migration. That population exploded by 4.2 million since Biden’s inauguration.

Meanwhile, the total foreign-born population of the U.S. has tripled since 1970, almost doubled since 1990 and is 40% higher since just 2000.
